Job Description
At West Dakota Meats, under new ownership, we're proud to bring the best meat processing services to North Dakota, from handling game to custom cuts for family meals.
We are seeking a part or full-time Butcher to perform tasks typical of custom butchering and processing.
What will I do?
● Use equipment such as knives, grinders, or bandsaws to cut and trim meat to desired size
● Cut, trim, debone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, wild game, poultry and fish
● Package, weigh, label, and price meats for sale
● Follow established recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products
● Maintain cleanliness and organization in the butcher area, adhering to strict hygiene practices.
Preferred candidates:
● Experience in all aspects of butchery, including advanced meat preparation techniques and knowledge of a wide variety of meats.
● Ability to cut, grind and prepare meats according to customer specifications
● Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
● Thorough understanding of types, cuts, and preparation of methods of meats
● Ability to use knives, scales, and other implements safely and with precision.
● Has a strong understanding of sanitary food handling procedures.
● Prompt and regular attendance required
Shifts available:
We have part or full-time shifts available Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm and part-time hours also available on the weekends.
