Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support at the plant level for a global manufacturing company. This role will be responsible for driving HR initiatives and ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and practices. The HR Generalist will focus on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws. This position will collaborate with plant leadership to create a productive, engaged, and high-performance work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employee Relations: Act as a mediator in employee relations matters, promoting a positive work culture and resolving conflicts in a fair and constructive manner. Lead local implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to maintain a compliant and ethical workplace. Recruitment and Staffing: Execute and continuously improve the recruitment process for hourly positions, from job posting to onboarding, ensuring the plant has a skilled and motivated workforce. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team to ensure a seamless recruitment process for salaried positions. Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies specific to the location and market Performance Management: Provide guidance and direction for the performance management process in partnership with the managers on performance appraisal systems, improvement plans, and employee development initiatives for hourly employees Collaborate with the Corporate HR team(s) to provide local support for performance appraisal systems for salaried employees. Training and Development: Identify training needs and collaborate with Regional HR Director to provide recommendations for and to coordinate professional development programs for employees. Support continuous learning and skills enhancement to ensure the workforce is aligned with industry trends. Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with the Compensation and Benefits team in administering compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with relevant regulations. Conduct (and/or provide assistance) regular market analysis to contribute to the analysis of the compensation structure and strategy for the organization. HR Strategy and Compliance: Develop and implement local HR strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. Stay abreast of labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks. HR Metrics and Reporting: Collect and analyze HR data such as headcount, turnover, and absenteeism to support decision-making and ensure the plant's HR strategies are aligned with business objectives. Health & Safety Partner with Plant Leader, Regional HR Director and Global EHS Director to drive EHS strategy and processes Develop and implement local Health & Safety cultural and procedural guidelines Manage and educate leaders and employees on safe work practices provided by the Global EHS leadership team Culture and Engagement: Lead initiatives to drive employee engagement, recognition, and morale within the plant. Organize events, programs, and communication campaigns to support a cohesive and motivated workforce. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred OR 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a strong emphasis on employee relations and compliance. Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels. Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Certifications: HR certifications (such as SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus. Working Conditions: This position operates within a manufacturing plant and office environment, requiring the ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift objects. The role involves interactions with employees, managers, and external stakeholders. Scheduling flexibility may be required to provide shift support.
