We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Landscape Purchasing Specialist to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong background in inventory management, procurement, and purchasing. The successful candidate will play a critical role in sourcing, procuring, and managing the materials, plants, and equipment necessary to execute our landscape construction projects. This role requires superior vendor relations, budgeting skills, and an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of purchasing for landscape construction projects, including materials, plants, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Maintain inventory control, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and equipment while minimizing waste and excess stock.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and other team members to coordinate purchasing activities and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, leveraging this knowledge to source new suppliers and products as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to purchasing and procurement.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on landscape construction.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of plants, materials, and equipment commonly used in landscape construction.
  • Excellent vendor management skills, with a proven ability to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Strong budgeting skills, with a proven ability to manage costs and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Proficiency with common software and tools used in the construction industry, including project management and inventory management systems.
  • An AA or BA degree in business, supply chain management, horticulture or a related field is preferred.
