HDR is seeking a highly motivated Power Electrical Designer in our power generation electrical/control group. This individual will be a key member of HDR's rapidly growing engineering team and will work under senior engineers to support the following:
In the role of Power Electrical Designer, we'll count on you to:
- Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
- Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other software
- Preparation of design calculations including voltage drop, cable sizing, grounding cable fill, ductbank and other electrical components.
- Preparation of specifications and contract documents
- Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
- Work closely with other project team members on multidiscipline projects
Preferred Qualifications - Working level skills in AutoCad and Microstation
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
- Knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
