RESEARCH ANALYST

New York, NY (Hybrid)

THE RUNDOWN

Playfly Sports is looking for a Sr. Research Analyst to join our team in New York. The Sr. Research Analyst will support Playfly across our US and International divisions, primarily focused on sponsorship insight support for our Playfly Sports Properties and Global Divisions. Candidates must have experience analyzing and combining diverse datasets, including syndicated and proprietary research resources, to craft persuasive sales narratives and develop actionable insights and effective storytelling on behalf of internal and external stakeholders. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the college sports landscape and sponsorship, in general.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Establish a deep understanding of the sponsorship landscape across the sports & entertainment landscape Perform detailed research assignments in areas including, but not limited to, property deep-dives, brand & category research, industry & asset trends, activation case studies, sponsorship deals analysis, etc. Utilize syndicated and proprietary data resources to develop actionable insights and effective storytelling on behalf of the sales team and clients Translate findings into an easy-to-digest and compelling manner in client deliverables Serve as an authority figure on the information when sharing with sales team and clients Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding project requirements, interpretation of data, and the development of recommendations based on findings Employ a strong sense of organization to manage tasks across multiple projects at once and participate in cross-departmental sharing of best practices and collaboration Write deliverables, reports, proposals and other documents with extraordinary attention to detail, consistency, spelling and grammar Other job-related duties as assigned WHAT YOU'LL BRING 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the sponsorship industry Media research and sports experience are a plus Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Sports Management, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or related field Experience with syndicated research and media sources, including Nielsen (National/Local TV, Scarborough), SponsorUnited, Vision Insights or similar qualitative data sets, etc. Analytical thinker who can evaluate large sets of data and extract meaningful findings and solutions Possess naturally curious mindset, enthusiasm working with data, strong adaptability, and sense of accountability Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including use of charting functionality, formula writing, logic statements, pivot tables, index/lookups. Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify data and complex ideas Ability to work both independently, and within a team, and establish effective interdepartmental relationships Ability to prioritize and manage workflow in an environment of managing multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of the US sports and entertainment sponsorship landscape Attention to detail, proactive project management and administrative skills Self-motivated and self-directed Creative storyteller Strong client relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This role is sedentary and takes place in a quiet office environment

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this role is $63,000- $73,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
